Terms of Service
Last updated: September 27, 2026. These terms apply to your use of firstglobalcitizen.org and to services provided by First Global Citizen ("we", "us"). By using this website or engaging our services, you agree to them. If a written proposal or engagement agreement conflicts with these terms, the proposal or agreement prevails. We may update these terms from time to time.
Scope of Services
We provide business consulting and support services: business plans, feasibility studies, market research and financial projections; business registration, government account and compliance support; business development, marketing and digital services; preparation of funding applications and investor materials; operations and administrative support; and business courses and mentoring. We only provide services that don't require a separate professional licence. We don't provide legal advice, legal documents or representation; audit, review or compilation engagements; immigration, visa, work-permit or citizenship services; lending, loan or mortgage brokering, investor introductions, securities or investment advice; recruitment or staffing; insurance, real estate or customs brokerage; or trademark or patent filings. Information on this website and in our work is general information, not legal, tax or financial advice. When you need a licensed professional, we'll tell you and, with your consent, refer you to an independent one, who is responsible for their own advice.
Fees, Changes & Cancellation
The scope, deliverables, timeline and fixed fee for each engagement are set out in a written proposal before any work begins. Government, registry and third-party fees are charged at cost, and applicable taxes such as GST/HST are added. Our fees are never a percentage of funds raised. Scope changes require your written approval of a revised estimate. You may cancel by written notice; fees for work completed and costs incurred to that point, including non-refundable government fees, remain payable, and refunds of prepaid fees for work not yet performed follow your proposal.
Confidentiality & Ownership
We keep your information confidential, use it only to provide our services, and handle personal information under our Privacy Policy. We sign a non-disclosure agreement on request. Once you've paid in full, you own the final deliverables prepared specifically for you, such as your business plan and financial model. We keep ownership of our pre-existing materials, templates and methods. Course content is licensed to enrolled participants for personal, non-commercial use.
Liability & Limitations
You're responsible for providing complete and accurate information and for reviewing drafts and filings before they are submitted. Projections are estimates, and actual results will differ. We don't guarantee that any lender, investor, funding program, registry or government authority will approve an application, or any particular business result. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for an engagement is limited to the fees you paid for the services giving rise to the claim, and we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits; nothing in these terms limits your rights under consumer protection laws.
